Injustice Gets a Second, Beefier Collector’s Edition; Fanboys Squeal

These days, limited editions are all the rage. They also have seemingly adopted the mantra: if it’s big as hell, it’ll sell. Cram an exorbitantly large box full of goodies and statues and swanky controllers, and typically people can’t wait to get their grubby paws on it. Following this trend, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released information about their planned “Battle Edition” for the upcoming fighter, Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Considering the game’s nature, what all is inside the box is something sure to get fans salivating like a Pavlovian pooch. In this announced Battle Edition, gamers will be treated to three DLC skins for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and a beast of a Fight Stick. For the fighting connoisseurs out there, the stick comes with a non-skid foam underside, a lockout feature for the Start, Select and Guide buttons, along with adjustable illumination for the buttons and joystick.

Don’t mistake Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition for the separate Collector’s Edition (pictured below, on the right). The CE will retail for $99.99 and come with a handful of different trinkets, while the BE weighs in at a staggering $149.99 and seems distinctly aimed at the hardcore, fighting game aficionado. That being said, the best part about the Battle Edition is the fact that it’s making an appearance on all three consoles: PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. Nintendo loyalists will be missing out on the standard Collector’s Edition, though, so be mindful of that if the Wii U version is in your crosshairs.

Injustice: Gods Among Us hits store shelves on April 16. If superheroes throwing ‘bows in a style similar to Mortal Kombat is your thing, then keep an eye out for this one.
