Some great news coming out today for those who migrated to different countries after creating an Xbox Live account — those accounts can now be changed to your new country. While the feature had been tested a few times over the years, it never worked correctly and had issues like blocking content to be transferred. With Microsoft’s new program, not only will downloaded content be kept, but gamerscore, unlocked achievements, Microsoft Points, remaining membership time and profile information will all be transferred.
The only caveat is that various subscription based services like Netflix, HBO GO and Hulu may not be available in whatever country is switched to. Before you think about doing this simply to download a region exclusive demo, be warned that this transfer can only take place every three months and doing it multiple times would probably be a red flag.
For legitimate needs, however, it’s fantastic news for those stuck in their old country virtually.
