During THQ’s auction, Koch Media (founders of Deep Silver) made some sizable acquisitions. Along with purchasing Volition Inc., the German company also picked up the rights to publish the Metro: Last Light. The highly anticipated sequel to 4A Games’ unique shooter was originally slated to release within March, but with February finally over, no word had come on whether or not it would keep on schedule.
Deep Silver broke that silence today as they announced that Metro: Last Light will instead be shipped on May 14 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms in North America, and three days later in Europe.
“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”, said Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director, Deep Silver.
