Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Announced for this Summer

With a reboot of the film series set to release in 2014, it makes sense that we’d begin to see a revival of the franchise in other facets of media. Nickelodeon has teamed up with Activision to release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Due out in summer, the game will be available on XBLA, PSN and Steam.

A third-person 3D brawler, the game looks graphically strong for a downloadable game and features four-play online co-op so fans of the series can control Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael in an attempt to defeat the Foot Clan and rekindle feelings of nostalgia.

The game will be developed by Red Fly Studio, best known for their Wii ports of Thor: God of Thunder and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. So, yes, this will likely be more akin to movie tie-ins than it is to the beloved Konami arcade beat ’em up.
