Road Rash Designer Dan Geisler Ready to do Another One, Launch Kickstarter

It’s been a long time since the last Road Rash surfaced; almost fifteen years in fact. Fans have since grown nostalgic for the motorcycle racing series and a thread asking for one pops up every so often on various forums. Instead of this being futile, Road Rash programmer/co-designer Dan Geisler heard a plea on reddit and actually responded to it, saying:

“It hasn’t resurfaced because I was burned out after Road Rash 3. But I’m ready to do another one now. I just needed 20 years off. I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too. If there is enough interest, Ill do a kickstart on it. btw thanks for the post. Dan Geisler, programmer/co-designer Road Rash 1 2 and 3”

Due to the (no offense, Dan) questionable grammar and formatting the post..and the fact that it was on reddit…many questioned its authenticity. Surprisingly, Geisler responded by posting a picture of himself which matched his LinkedIn.

So there you go, proof that wishing for stuff on forums can pay off.

As the Genesis entries were some of the best racing/vehicular combat games on the platform, it’d certainly be interesting to revisit the series — so long it doesn’t befall the same fate as the PlayStation and N64 entries — but Geisler wasn’t involved with those. EA seems to own the rights to the series, so this of course would all be contingent on the company selling the rights.

Would you play another Road Rash? Sound off below.
