As it took eleven years for American McGee’s Alice to get a sequel, many thought that the third entry in the series could befall a similar fate. While he’s had a threequel planned since the release of Alice: Madness Returns, apparently lack of interest from EA had put the project on indefinite hold. Not one to give up easily, however, McGee today posted on his Facebook hinting that he’s interested in acquiring the rights to the series from EA and launching a Kickstarter:
Questions for you:
1) If we could get the rights from EA, would you play “Alice 3?”
2) If you’d play “Alice 3,” would you back it on Kickstarter?
3) If you said “yes” to those two things, make some noise – I’m trying to gauge interest in case I happen to discuss this with EA during GDC in 2 weeks. The more interest there is, the more seriously they’ll take the conversation.”
So there you go; if you’re interested in an another Alice game, make sure to head over to McGee’s Facebook and voice your desires. The more exclamation points and capitalizations the better.
