Fansboys (ourselves included) can let out a collective sigh of disappointment over this news. Sega revealed today that their wildly successful Phantasy Star Online 2 will not make its intended ‘Early 2013’ release window in North America. A Sega spokesperson went on the record to say: “Originally slated for an early 2013 launch, Sega can officially confirm that PS02 has been delayed. We don’t have any specifics but will update everyone as soon as there are more details to share.”
This is most upsetting for those of us who played the game via the Japanese servers at its launch last year, and loved every second of it. As of now, the game is still scheduled for a Japanese Vita release this summer, though word on a PSV release in the West obviously hasn’t even been talked about much. Womp, womp.
