Earlier this week we ran a story about the timeline by which Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is operating. As such, the game is expected to head into its third beta phase at the end of the month (which finally allows PS3 users to get in on the action), followed by an open beta for everyone on both consoles and then full retail release sometime this summer. That being said, it’s still a bit of a gamble as to whether or not players will get into the closed beta. Because of this, folks are going to great lengths to experience the re-launch of the 2010 title as early as possible.
Those who have been around XIV since the beginning may remember that if they purchased Final Fantasy XIII back in the day, they were given a code to earn a special in-game item. Well, for the people who held onto that precious little number, they’re going to be quite happy about this latest bit of news: Square Enix has confirmed that registering that code over on the Square Enix Members website will grant priority beta access for Phase 3. If you just so happened to misplace that code, Square is even willing to help you look it up.
For those who didn’t bother to purchase XIII — and we don’t necessarily blame you for that — don’t be too disheartened; you can still sign up for the beta by heading to http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/na/ or http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/eu/ if you’re in Europe and the PAL territories. Don’t say we never gave you anything.
