Sega Registers “Sonic Lost World” Trademark in Europe

While it seems like much of the Sonic news and rumors that come out end up being endless runners or other mobile cash-ins, this one looks lively. As the SegaBits forums pointed out, Sega has registered the trademark “SONIC LOST WORLD” in Europe and classified it as a video game. While it’s impossible to link directly to the trademark listing, it can be found by heading to the Trademarks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union and searching for the trade mark name “sonic lost world.” Or check out our handy screenshot below.

While it’s unclear from the title at this point what it will end up being, we’d wager it’s a console game. It’s getting near E3 and the next big Sonic game is bound to be announced soon. The only clue the title drops is “Lost World” that, besides being an excellent Jeff Goldblum/Vince Vaughn film, is also the name of a stage in Sonic Adventure.
