This week’s PS Store update has gone live and brings with it a ton of discounts, bundles, and two free games. Pinball Arcade for the PS3 and Vita, and the Vita version of Germinator join the instant game collection, while a bundle of Darkstalkers Resurrection and Super Puzzle Fighter is $15 normally, and a bit over $10 for Plus members. A lot of ultimate editions go on sale as well, with Plus members being able to save more as Assassin’s Creed’s III one costs $15, Arkham City’s is $23, DmC’s is $47, Modern Warfare 3’s is $63, Max Payne 3’s is $21, Starhawk’s is $16, Far Cry 3’s is $50, Persona 4 Arena’s is $28, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s is $45 and finally, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron’s is $57.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger hits PSN for $15, and has a free demo that people can try out. The basic editions of Arkham City and Modern Warfare 3 get price drops to $20 and $40 respectively. A week-long sale takes Auditorium HD down to $1, Golden Axe to $3, Urban Trial Freestyle for the Vita is $7, while its PS3 version is $10, and the basic version of VF 5: Final Showdown costs $5 and its complete edition is $15. Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault launches on the Vita, and is included as a freebie for existing PS3 version owners – who can also get a free copy of Ratchet: Deadlocked at no extra cost.
It’s definitely not one of those release weeks where a ton of AAA-level stuff comes out new, but does offer up a lot of appealing savings for folks curious about some lesser-known games. Auditorium HD is a must-buy for only $1, while the complete version of VF 5 is impossible to turn down at $15 if you don’t already have it. PS3 owners without a 360 may want to buy Urban Trial Freestyle, although it’s not quite as polished a game and doesn’t have the unlimited replay value offered up by tons of user-created content.
