With only about two weeks remaining before The Last of Us hits store shelves, Sony is looking to market the digital version. With the increase of Day 1 downloads on the Playstation 3, it’s good to see more Naughty Dog titles find their way to the digital marketplace. Now here’s hoping that it won’t be a thirty gigabyte download.
Releasing day and date with its retail counterpart, Sony is giving a strong case why gamers should be picking up the digital version of this intense and atmospheric adventure. Not only will you be allowed to play The Last of Us while downloading it, but if you pre-order the game through the Playstation Store, you’ll be given access to the Season Pass that generally retails for $19.99.
The pass will include three pieces of downloadable content with two centering on multiplayer and one on extending the main campaign’s fiction. Purchasers of the Season Pass will also receive additional bonuses to sweeten the deal:
- Increased Crafting Speed
- Increased Healing Speed
- 9mm Reload Speed Upgrade
- Rifle Clip Capacity Upgrade
- Ground ~ an exclusive 90 minute long “Making of The Last of Us” Documentary ~
The Last of Us will be available on June 14, the Friday after E3, exclusively on the Playstation 3.
