As I’m sure you already know, most major video game companies don’t rely on animation by hand anymore, at least in the three-dimensional space. Developers now use a variety of cameras to capture motion from individuals that they can then simulate fluid and natural movements. This has been going on for a long time, in movies and video games, but Ubisoft has decided to give us a sneak peak at a typical mocap session for Watch Dogs.
From walking to takedowns, Watch Dogs features an incredibly amount of animation that looks to take advantage of next generation hardware. No longer will we be restricted to how many animations are allowed because the RAM is too low… at least not for awhile. Watch Dogs will be released on November 19 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U platforms, with PS4 and Xbox One versions out when the systems ship.
