It was rumored early last month that Namco Bandai was working on an HD version of the popular Tales of Symphonia game that originally hit Japan back in 2003 (and 2004 elsewhere). While everything went silent for nearly a month, during Namco Bandai’s annual Tales Festival, the Japanese company announced that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for the Playstation 3 is indeed in development.
This package will include both Tales of Symphonia and Dawn of the New World in beautiful HD quality, and will be released in Japan this October. Better yet, it’s confirmed that the HD re-imagining will also be coming to the West in early 2014. Considering both these titles were Nintendo exclusives here in North America, mainly because Nintendo helped fund the first game’s localization, it’s a little surprising to see them hit the Playstation 3, but it looks like they’ll finally be able to reach their core audience.
