PlayStation Store Update is Live

This week’s PS Store update is fairly noteworthy, which is a bit of a mixed blessing with E3 going on. However, it’s still an outstanding chance to save a bunch of money with sale prices and even partake in some new freebies as well. X-COM: Enemy Unknown, Uncharted 3’s single-player mode, Machinarum (PS3), and LBP Karting are this week’s PS+ freebies. Tekken Revolution brings fighting games into the free-to-play space on consoles. The biggest savings outside of the freebies is in the “Best of E3 2012” which not only attaches the sale to E3 to try and make it topical, but also lets you get Black Ops II for $38, Assassin’s Creed III for $20, the Vita game AC III: Liberation for a mere $13, PS All Stars Battle Royale on the PS3 is $14, a Tomb Raider bundle with Quantum Conundrum and some DLC for $20, Borderlands 2 for $20, Dishonored for slightly more than $20, Epic Mickey 2’s best version for $20, Far Cry 3 for $30, FIFA 13 for $30, and MGS: Revegeance for $30. A ton of games are in the sub-$4 range if you’re a Plus member, including Sound Shapes for the PS3 and Vita, Quantum Conundrum, Guardians of Middle-Earth, The Unfinished Swan, and Hell Yeah!

Additionally, Contra: Shattered Soldier and Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer join the PS2 Classics lineup for $10, while the Flying Hamster hits the Vita for $4. Hatsune Miku Project Diva F gets a demo, as does the Vita’s Flying Hamster. Hitman Absolution gets a permanent price drop down to $20, while Persona 4: Golden on the Vita is now $30, and Sleeping Dogs is $25 instead of $50.  A metric butt-ton of EA online passes are also marked to free, and just seeing the sheer amount of them listed is staggering. All of the freebies are must-plays, so give those a whirl while Sound Shapes, Hell Yeah!, and especially The Unfinished Swan are must-buys at such a low price point.
