Hideo Kojima Depressed That MGSV Won’t Reach the Level of GTAV

Hideo Kojima’s tweets has been a bit odd lately. After stating his overwhelming approval of Pacific Rim through a giant wall of tweets (something so unexpected that Warner Bros. used them in a press release), the visionary took to Twitter to state that he doesn’t think Metal Gear Solid V will live up to Grand Theft Auto V, saying in two tweets: “”GTA V” new trailer was awesome! This free control is future of the game, way higher than anywhere, makes me depress as matter fact. I don’t think our “V” can reach that level. Rockstar’s team are the best. W/o question they will pull up the possibility of game.”

From what we’ve seen of Metal Gear Solid V, it looks to offer a very fresh and arguably unprecedented cinematic experience. While GTAV will certainly be a larger game, that doesn’t mean it will be better. Kojima has always been very humble, but we hope he’s not being too hard on himself.
