It feels like we’ve been doing a lot of these posts lately, so 2003 must have been one hell of a year. Personally, all that I remember from it is 2 Fast 2 Furious, but I’m also a horrible person. Anyways, ten years ago today F-Zero GX was released in Japan on the Nintendo Gamecube. A North American release followed exactly a month after and the arcade counterpart, F-Zero AX, was released around the same time.
F-Zero GX was not only one of the best entries in the franchise, but also one of the best racing games of its generation and a graphical stunner on the Gamecube. Unfortunately, the series sputtered out after GX and besides a Japanese-only GBA entry a year later, has been dormant for the past ten years.
So happy birthday, F-Zero GX and please come back on the Wii U. Please.
