Here’s proof that networking is important. Previously just a PC/Mac/Linux game, Crypt Run will now be darting to the Wii U. At last week’s Casual Connect, Crypt Run developers Lost Decade Games met two Nintendo employees who fast-tracked their approval and are getting them hooked up with the tools they need to bring it to Nintendo’s home console. Unfortunately, this comes very late in the development stage (and just a week before the successful Kickstarter ends), leaving the two developers scrambling for funding.
Currently sitting at just over $5,500, the project will need to reach $20,000 to release the game on Wii U. This is said to cover the two months of development time it will take to port the game, as Lost Decade has never worked with a video game console before. Of course with no prior experience and the need to nearly quadruple their current financial backing, this makes the goals quite lofty to make the Wii U version happen.
