Fatal Fury has always been one of the more under-appreciated fighters of the gaming world. Regardless of that, the franchise has been one that’s pumped out solid title after solid title. Therefore, when Discotek Media announced yesterday their acquisition of the 1994 animated film Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, loyalists of the series went crazy with excitement. Based on the SNK games under the same name, the film stars fan-favorite Terry Bogard, his brother Andy and their close friend Joe Higashi. While the movie was originally released on VHS and DVD in the West by VIZ Media, Discotek is looking to bring the film into the modern age by producing a 16:9 anamorphic widescreen print of the film from the original negative.
Although Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture does not have a release date as of yet, expect news to break in the coming weeks concerning one.
