On August 9, Sony held a huge announcement event entitled “MikXperience e.p. / Xperia feat. Hatsune Miku”. From the gathering came news on Hatsune Miku V3 and Hatsune Miku V3 English. Naturally, fans were ecstatic to hear that the voice synthesis engine Vocaloid 3 was coming in just a few weeks’ time. Perhaps most shocking, however, was the bit on worldwide fans finally get a chance to tool around with the engine in English.
Sony revealed that Hatsune Miku V3 English will release close to the Japanese version this fall. Additionally, it was announced that both iterations will be available on Windows and Mac OS X. Unfortunately, the similarities between the two regions stop there, as a total of five vocal libraries are being prepared for the Japanese version, while only one will be usable in the English iteration.
V3 English will be similar to its Japanese counterpart in that users can compose songs by inputting lyrics and a melody, but this time in English. V3E will focus on house, techno and crossover musical genres in addition to a tempo of 100-130 BPM and B2-B3 range.
Hatsune Miku V3 will be released on September 26 for approximately 16,800 yen. Interestingly enough, V3 English will drop almost a full month before the Japanese version, releasing on August 31 for $149. Additionally, the “Hatsune Miku V3 Bundle,” which will include both the Japanese and English library, will release on September 29.
It pumps us up to know that Miku is finally making her way across the pond. Here’s hoping the style catches fire here like it has in Japan.
