Even though the PlayStation Vita is less than two years old, Sony has revealed today that they will be redesigning the system ever so subtly. The new model will come with a 1GB memory card built in for save files, the weight will be reduced to 219g (15% difference), the depth is down to 15mm (20% difference) and the battery will be extended by one hour in length. Additionally, they showed off various color schemes, ranging from yellow to pink. Unfortunately, Sony has downgraded from their OLED display to a 5″ LCD screen.
The updated PlayStation Vita will be available in Japan on October 10, with North American and European releases still pending.
