The third installment into From Software’s Souls franchise has finally received a release date. It was teased at E3 this year that the game would be out sometime in March, but now we have a firm date. On March 11 in North America, and March 14 in Europe, Namco Bandai will be publishing Dark Souls II for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a PC version coming “shortly after.”
It’s surprising the PC version is getting the short end of the stick considering Namco Bandai pushed it hard at E3, specifically showing the version off behind closed doors, but hopefully they have a better grasp on developing for the platform. Additionally, promotional packaging has been announced, with every pre-order being upgraded to a Black Armor Edition, and a Collector’s Edition that includes a miniature statue, the world map, the soundtrack and an art book.
