Yakuza is one of the biggest PlayStation franchises in Japan, pumping out five monumental games, along with a number of spin-offs. The next installment is Yakuza: Ishin, taking everyone’s favorite characters and placing them in feudal japan. This is very similar to Yakuza: Kenzan, a title that never made it stateside, but is implementing all of the improved features the series has seen over the years.
At Sony’s pre-TGS press conference, the game was announced alongside a short trailer, just teasing us of what’s to come. Sega has put out an extended version of the trailer today, spanning nearly ten minutes long and focusing on the story & characters. Yakuza: Ishin will be out in Japan on both the PS3 and PS4 February 22, but don’t expect an English localization anytime soon (if at all).
