I’m going to have to eat my own words. Drakengard 3 (or Drag-On Dragoon in Japan) was announced earlier this year and it was met with mixed reception. While concern ran through most people, others were just glad we’d be getting another dragon soaring title. Unfortunately, it was unknown if the game was going to make it outside of Japan, until now.
Square Enix has announced today that they will be publishing the PlayStation 3 game in North America sometime next year. The game will be valued at $49.99 and will be sold both digitally and through retailers. This is a surprise only because Square Enix decided to hand over the publishing rights to Ubisoft last go around. Regardless, Drakengard fans rejoice as there will be another entry in the series. Hopefully a spiritual successor to Nier will follow.
