Batman: Arkham Origins is only four days away from release. Warner Bros. Montreal’s first entry into the Batman Arkham franchise, and it looks pretty awesome in this 17 minute walkthrough hosted by Senior Producer Ben Mattes and Gameplay Director Michael McIntyre.
In the walkthrough you’ll see Batman explore the Batcave, beat down some thugs and infiltrate a corrupt Gotham City Police Department. These objectives are only a very thin slice of all the things you’ll be doing when the game launches.
Batman: Arkham Origins takes place five years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum. On Christmas Eve of Batman’s second year on the job Black Mask puts a $50 million hit on Batman’s head. Eight of the world’s greatest assassins converge on Gotham City on this one night in an attempt to claim the prize. Six assassins have been revealed – Bane, Deathstroke, Copperhead, Deadshot, Firefly and the Electrocutioner – with two more left to be announced.
Warner Bros. Montreal takes over development from Rocksteady who are busy working on another unannounced project. Warner Bros. Montreal has been very careful about staying true to the Batman Arkham formula all while putting their own spin on the franchise. Splash Damage is developing a multiplayer component, a first for the franchise. Multiplayer will not be available on the Wii U version.
Batman: Arkham Origins is out October 25 worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U. Check out the 17 minutes of gameplay below:
