New Bayonetta Anime Trailer Released; Has Lots of Hair, Guns, Spread-Legs — the Usual

We seriously question the integrity of any gamer who says they don’t like Bayonetta. Actually, we question the value of their very life — that’s how much we love the gun-toting, hail-flowing, hyper-sexual vixen. In any event, when it was announced several weeks ago that the fan favorite, angel-slaying siren would be reprising her role in a feature length anime film, we (and the Platinum Games enthusiasts of the world) exploded with excitement. While we were treated to a debut trailer upon first reveal, all’s been quiet regarding the project since that initial unveiling. Fortunately, today that silence was broken.

The latest trailer of Bayonetta: Bloody Fate is comprised of all the things missing in the original montage: the entire cast of freaks and misfits we all came to love in the game. So that means Cereza, Enzo, Luka, Rodin and of course Jeanne are all back here, and being voiced by a cast of Japanese powerhouses. Naturally, the star of the film, Bayonetta, will be played by Atsuko Tanaka, best known for her work on Ghost in the Shell as Motoko Kusanagi, while Mie Sonozaki (of Strike Witches and WALL-E notoriety) voices the intrepid Jeanne. To round things out, Afro Samurai director Fuminori Kizaki is manning the directorial helm for the film, further cementing our aforesaid notion that this endeavor is indeed stacked with a roster of talent.

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate is scheduled for a release on November 23 in select Japanese theaters. Although there has been no official word on a localized release for western audiences, a little, barely visible, disabled “English” link in the top right-hand corner of the official website seems to signify that production company Gonzo does in fact have…international plans.
