Batman: Arkham Origins for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U will no doubt capture most of the headlines and sales when it launches worldwide tomorrow. However, another game in the franchise will also be launching on the PS Vita and 3DS. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is a sequel to the console game being released on handhelds tomorrow alongside the console title.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate takes place three months after the events of the console game. A mysterious explosion at Blackgate Prison allows Black Mask, Penguin and Joker to each take over a section of the prison. Sensing something is wrong, Batman swoops over to Blackgate to discover how something like this could happen. It is here that he will meet Catwoman for the first time.
Unlike Batman: Arkham Origins, Blackgate is a 2.5D Beat-em-Up game. Armature Studio has worked hard to integrate the core gameplay experience from the console games onto the handheld versions. The 10 minute gameplay video highlights detective vision, platforming and combat and how it has made its way onto PS Vita and 3DS. Heads up, the video only shows gameplay from the PS Vita version.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is out October 25 worldwide for PS Vita and 3DS. Check out the 10 minutes of pure gameplay below:
