2K Games and Irrational have finally announced the release date for the highly anticipated DLC that takes players back to the underwater city of Rapture. BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 lands on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 12. It will cost you $14.99 to download, or will be free if you purchased the Season Pass.
Burial at Sea is a two-episode DLC expansion set in an alternate timeline in the city of Rapture. Players will still play as Booker DeWitt with Elizabeth accompanying him on the journey. However, their appearances and dialogue have been altered to match the 1950s vibe of Rapture.
In Episode 1, Booker and Elizabeth explore the city of Rapture the night before its downfall in search of a missing girl. Of course, all hell breaks loose with Splicers aiming to take off your head. Irrational has stated that Burial at Sea will be a blend of the original BioShock’s gameplay and that of BioShock Infinite. All new weapons and plasmids were created just for this DLC. Rapture was also built from the ground up in Infinite’s new engine.
Irrational also gave an update on the status of Episode 2. They are still hard at work on that piece of DLC and do not have a solid release date yet. In Episode 2, players will get to play as Elizabeth for the first time in the Infinite storyline.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 is out November 12 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The BioShock Infinite Season Pass is still available for $19.99.
