Nintendo has revealed that a YouTube app is on its way to the 3DS. This will allow users to view YouTube videos through that rather than using the handheld’s internet browser to access the website. Nintendo noted that users will need a strong internet connection to smoothly run the app as it will require both screens.
The way the app will function on the 3DS is actually pretty cool. The top screen will be used for viewing the video, and the bottom will be used for searching. So now you can search and watch at the same time. Nintendo also confirmed that the Wii U YouTube app will also be updated to support these same features. You’ll be able to watch the video on the TV while searching for your next video on the Wii U GamePad.
The 3DS YouTube app and the update to the Wii U YouTube app will launch sometime in December.
