It’s been known for a long time that certain games people could buy on PS3 or Xbox 360 and then upgrade to the next-gen versions later for only $10. Many people have already partaken in this offer with Call of Duty: Ghosts in North America since the PS4 is out now. Well, Activision wants it to be clear this can also be done in Europe with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The infographic explains the obvious. If you purchase the PS3 or Xbox 360 version then you can download a copy of the next-gen version for cheap. On PS4 you use a code that comes with the PS3 copy or on Xbox One you just download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Like in North America, Xbox One users can also trade in their Xbox 360 copy at a retail store for the Xbox One version at the same discounted price.
This transfer to next-gen will see your entire multiplayer stats and Season Pass transfer onto your next-gen console. What won’t transfer is your single player data. You’ll to begin the campaign again rather than picking up where you left off.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is out now on PS4 in North America. It launches November 22 on Xbox One in 13 countries and November 29 on PS4 in Europe and Latin America.
