Live The Adventures Of Bilbo Baggins In LEGO The Hobbit

LEGO The Lord of the Rings was a tremendous success so it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros, has announced a LEGO game based on the prequel trilogy.  LEGO The Hobbit is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, PC and Mac Spring 2014.  As expected it will be based on the first two films in the film trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

“We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth.”

Like in all LEGO games players will get to play as a plethora of famous characters from the franchise.  Confirmed characters include Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori.  Every character will have a unique ability like Bombour who can be used as a trampoline.  Expect there to be even more characters including Legolas, Thranduil, Saruman and possibly even Smaug.

Players will also get to visit a wide array of famous Middle-Earth locations from The Hobbit trilogy.  Expect to see key locations like the High Pass, Goblin-town, Mirkwood and The Lonely Mountain.  The ability to craft items and buildings will return from LEGO The Lord of the Rings.

Expect there to also be a LEGO The Hobbit 2.  There are a total of three movies in the The Hobbit Trilogy, but only two are represented in this game.  The Hobbit: There and Back Again won’t be released until December 17, 2014.

LEGO The Hobbit is out Spring 2014 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, PC and Mac.
