Sega to Bring More 3D Classics to 3DS, Future Games Depend on Sales

Just last week, Sega let loose their initial batch of 3D Classics for the 3DS here in North America. Among those first titles were 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On. Although the last of the 3D Classics will be released over the next month or so, Sega recently stated that they’re developing even games as we speak.

Assistant producer at Sega’s Hardlight Studio, James Booth, Tweeted a “thank you” to Yosuke Okunari for his work on the 3D Classics, to which Okunari replied:

Thank you. We develop the 2nd series for Japan. If this overseas release succeeds, it may release these in the world.

Sega really has shown great support for the 3DS over the years, and the Classics line is just another testament to that. It will be interesting to see what games Sega have up their sleeves for future releases. We can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for a few fan favorites, such as Contra: Hard Corps, Phantasy Star IV or even some of the Saturn gems such as Burning Rangers or Shining Force 3. The possibilities here are nigh endless, and that’s what excites us the most. That said, what are some titles you all would love to see? Sound off in the comments section to let us know.
