The Witch and the Hundred Knight Gets Obligatory Limited Edition

Earlier this week we broke the news on NIS America’s forthcoming JRPG earning itself a release date here in the West. While the roleplaying game with far too long a title has been talked about since 2011 — and subsequently released in Japan five months ago — there hadn’t been a whole lot of chatter regarding an international launch of The Witch and the Hundred Knight, making yesterday’s announcement all the bigger. But just as we found out that March 25 will indeed be the launch date here in North America, we have now been told that a limited edition is in the works as well.

That being said, the game will launch on PS3 in both physical and digital forms for the low price of $49.99. Of course, folks ordering through NISA’s online store will also have the option of snagging a Limited Edition version of the game. The LE will include all the usual suspects: a 2-disc soundtrack, hardcover artbook, reversible cover and a rad Nendroid of Metallia, the story’s lead heroine.

The Wtich and the Hundred Knight tells the sale of a young swamp witch named Metallia, and her conquest to spread her coveted swamps across the globe. Unfortunately, she is not able to leave the area surrounding her home, thus seemingly thwarting her plans of world domination. This is precisely why she enlists the help of the Hundred Knight, though, whom sets out to do her dirty work by destroying magical pillars that have been erected in an effort to keep her swamps at bay. Bonkers, right? Yet amazing sounding.

Nevertheless, be on the lookout for the game next year; boy, the first quarter of 2014 sure is going to destroy our bank accounts.
