As promised by Nintendo, the Pokemon Bank will be releasing this December. This new service will allow Pokemon X and Y players to store thousands of Pokemon on a cloud service. You can download it starting December 27.
Probably the most appealing feature of the Pokemon Bank is the Poke Transporter. This allows dedicated players to transfer their collection of Pokemon from previous Pokemon titles on the Nintendo DS. Be warned though, Pokemon can only be transferred from Black, White, Black 2 and White 2. You cannot transfer your creatures from Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver. Those will need to be transferred to one of the Unova games first before they can be sent to X and Y.
Check out all the features below:
- Deposit, withdraw, and manage up to 3,000 Pokémon in private boxes online through an internet connection
- Transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, including the downloadable versions, using one Nintendo 3DS system
- Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y using the Poké Transporter, a linked application received when you download Pokémon Bank.
Pokemon Bank will be free to download, but will charge and annual subscription fee of $4.99. Those who download the app between December 27, 2013 and January 31, 2014 will get a free 30 day trial.
