Race Through Airports, Caves and Clouds In Mario Kart 8

Mario Kart 8 is only a few months off and things are getting quite exciting.  Nintendo released a brand new trailer for Mario Kart 8 today as part of their Nintendo Direct that has confirmed new tracks and racers for players to play with.

The first stage featured takes place at an airport.  Players will race through terminals, roads with planes landing and taking off on and even inside the planes themselves.  The second stage took place in a cave with rolling boulders.  Finally, the last stage took place high in the sky with perilous drops and streaks of lightning.

Plenty of characters were confirmed to be in the game.  These include baby versions of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy.  Rosalina also returns from Mario Kart Wii as a playable racer.

What was missing from the trailer is a release date.  It has been known for a long time that Mario Kart 8 would release sometime Sponge 2014, but Nintendo has been quite adamant about not announcing an official day.  Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Mario Kart 8 is out Spring 2014 exclusively on Wii U.  Check out the latest trailer below:
