Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U are now one character stronger. During today’s Nintendo Direct episode Nintendo confirmed the nineteenth character for the upcoming brawler; Rosalina.
Rosalina is a powerful figure that made her debut appearance in Super Mario Galaxy in 2007. She was then featured as a racer in Mario Kart Wii before making another appearance in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Rosalina strides into the the thick of battle in the new Super Smash Bros. games.
In battle she teams up with Luma, a star like creature first seen in Super Mario Galaxy. Toegther they’re able to perform remarkable feats of magic that leave the competition confused in their tracks. Also making its first appearance in the trailer is the Comet Observatory, a brand new stage for the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. This will be Rosalina’s first time in a Super Smash Bros. game.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U were first announced at E3 2011 during the Wii U reveal. It was announced in January 2013 that fans would get their first look at the game at E3 2013. Recently it was rumored that the game would launch in Spring 2014, but Nintendo debunked that rumor saying it was misquoted.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is are out sometime in 2014. See Rosalina in action below:
