Samurai Warriors 4 Probably Coming West Next Summer

The Samurai Warriors series is underrated. Despite putting out three solid mainline entries, and a few spin-offs, folks tend to overlook it for its bigger, older brother, Dynasty. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped developers from working on a fourth installment. While Samurai Warriors 4 has only been discussed for a Japanese release in the past, it would seem that producer Hisashi Koinuma has other intentions.

Earlier this week, Koinuma was asked the following question on Twitter: “Can we get Samurai Warriors 4 for the West please?” In response he said, “Yes. Perhaps, next summer.”

That should be music to the ears of fans of the samurai-laden brawler. Samurai Warriors 4 is currently in development for PlayStation 3 and Vita and is scheduled for a Japanese release on March 20 of next year. While North American fans will have Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends to tide them over, we can’t help but think that there are some diehard SW fans out there just wrapping up their hands in devilish anticipation for this fourth game.
