It’s of little doubt that Nintendo has had a rough few days when it comes to their Nintendo Network. Starting Christmas Eve, the Big N was experiencing some network crashes that prevented gamers from downloading games or playing them online. At that time, the network was unstable, but it was manageable. THEN came Christmas day, and things went to shit. It was nigh impossible to do anything internet-related on the Wii U. Finally, Nintendo took down the whole service for roughly twelve hours yesterday and started things back up again this morning around 4am EST. And yet, with these network woes, Nintendo has still managed to pump out their weekly press release of the eShop’s offerings.
This week, Wii U gamers are being treated to some real gems: Dr. Luigi, Zen Studios’ Castlestorm and Super Punch-Out!!. On the 3DS side of things, folks who love them some Virtual Console will be able to grab the Game Boy Color version of Mario Tennis.
Of course, new games aren’t the only items Nintendo has to offer. There are also a number of deals going on, as a way to cap off 2013. For starters, that sweet Atlus sale is still happening, which means Shin Megami Tensei IV, Etrian Odyssey and Code of Princess are all on mark-down. Then, Nintendo is offering free access to Wii Sports Club from December 31 at 12:01am PT until 11:59pm PT on January 1. Of course, Ubisoft is hosting a sale, too, giving folks 30 percent off many of its Wii U and 3DS games through December 31 on.
