Twitch Isn’t Coming To Xbox One Anytime Soon

Twitch’s streaming service launched alongside PS4 back in November and has quickly become very popular.  A few days ago Twitch confirmed that 20% of their users now use PS4 as their machine of choice to stream content.  Over 1.7 million gameplay broadcasts have since been streamed.  With all this excitement one would think Microsoft would want to get Twitch up fast on Xbox One, right?  Well, no.

Twitch support has taken to Twitter to confirm that the service isn’t going to be on Xbox One for a good couple of months, and it appears that it is Microsoft’s fault.  “Xbox One Direct Broadcasting: There is no ETA at this time from Microsoft. Expect a few more months. If we know sooner, we’ll update.”

At the present time, Xbox One users are able to watch content streamed to Twitch.  This has been available since Day 1, but the ability to stream gameplay straight from the console has been absent.  It was previously announced that the service would be available early 2014.  That, sadly, isn’t happening anymore.
