Undead Labs Signs Multi-Year Exclusivity Deal With Microsoft

Undead Labs is the studio behind Xbox Live and Steam title State of Decay.  This zombie game launched in June of 2013 to good reviews, though the game was found to be a bit buggy.  A few months later it was released on Steam.  From the looks of things the initial partnership with Microsoft was a great success.  So great that Undead Labs has signed a multi-year, multi-title exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

“I wanted to let you know we’ve signed a multi-year, multi-title agreement to extend our development relationship with Microsoft Studios,” the devs wrote on their website.  “We’ll be able to share details later this year, but as with State of Decay, we think it’s best if we just keep our heads down and build some prototypes before we talk too much. For now, suffice it to say there are big things going on with State of Decay.”

Currently, the studio is working on a zombie MMO for consoles currently titles Class4.  State of Decay, before getting its proper name, was titled Class3 so it is more than likely the MMO will build upon what was done in State of Decay.  It will also be an Xbox One exclusive.

We hope to hear more from Undead Labs in the near future.
