One of the worst kept secrets in gaming (thanks mainly to an ill-timed GameStop poster), Activision has officially unveiled Onslaught, the first Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC, today. Set to release January 28 as a timed exclusive for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, Onslaught adds four new multiplayer maps to the game as well as the new “Maverick” sniper/assault rifle. For cooperative minded players, the first episode of the new Extinction narrative, “Episode 1: Nightfall” will debut, which features new weapons and new characters/enemies.
Four maps are included: Fog, BayView, Containment and Ignition. Fog is a medium map set alongside the banks of a murky lake, BayView is a close-quarters map set alongside a Californian boardwalk, Containment is set in a war-torn Mexican village and Ignition, inspired by Modern Warfare 2’s Scrapyard, is set in an aging Florida space launch facility.
The DLC can be purchased as a standalone pack or as part of the $49.99 season pass.
