New Hitman Officially Announced for PC and Next-Gen Consoles

Today, Io-Interactive announced, in a open letter to fans, that they are currently working on a next-gen Hitman “At Io-Interactive right now, we are building the next AAA Hitman game for PC and next-gen consoles.”

The next Hitman will allow users to control Agent 47 in the “prime of his career”. Io-Interactive promises the “core Hitman fantasy”. The game will be using the Glacier 2 engine (again) and will feature “an extreme level of detail on the largest levels we have ever built for a Hitman game.” The missions will be “non-linear” and “will play out across huge, checkpoint-free, sandbox levels.” Also, Contracts Mode will return in this installment and will once again allow users to “create and build challenges by experimenting with the large levels and possibilities within them.”

No release date or window was announced, but Io-Interactive promised that they would “share much, much more in the coming months.”
