It’s our duty here at Hardcore Gamer to shower Puyo Puyo Tetris with praise and, by proxy, give it the attention it deserves. After all, there’s a slew of great games coming out in February and March, so it’s likely that importers will just simply miss Puyo’s Japanese release.
Thus, today we bring to you a pair of new videos showcasing two of the game’s modes. The first, entitled “Big Bang”, is a mode wherein players work against a time limit to perfectly place a single place a block or puyo in order to clear line and line in a race against opponents. The second one, “Party”, is exactly what it sounds like: a free-for-all where folks must not only deal with the game as it normally is played, but also manage a variety of screen and block effects triggered by a foe’s slick skills. But don’t let our feeble words convince you; take a gander for yourself at the videos below.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is due out on PlayStation 3, Vita, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on February 6 in Japan.
