HBO Go Is Coming To PS3 and PS4

HBO Go, the app that allows HBO subscribers to stream HBO content to smart devices or Xbox 360, is officially making its way to the PlayStation nation.  This was confirmed over at the PlayStation Blog by HBO CEO Richard Plepler.  It will first launch on PS3 and then a PS4 version will follow sometime soon.  No word on if the PS Vita will get the app.

HBO Go made its console debut on th Xbox 360 a few years back, but has been mysteriously absent from the PlayStation ecosystem.  An Xbox One version of the app was announced back at the Xbox One reveal event, but it has yet to materialize.  Perhaps HBO is waiting to launch the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the app together?

Combined with an HBO subscription, HBO Go allows users to stream HBO shows to different platforms.  These include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Veep, True Blood and The Wire among many others.  The Emmy nominated Game of Thrones is set to debut its anticipated fourth season on April 6, so hopefully the app will be available by then.

We’ll let you know when the PS3 and PS4 versions launch.  Check out the Game of Thrones Season 4 trailer below and see what the excitement is all about:
