Warning: Final Fantasy VI is Broken On Android

Since the launch of Final Fantasy VI on Android, people have been experiencing issues ranging from minor stability, framerate and graphical glitches, to a game breaking bug at the halfway point of the adventure. The game-breaker occurs during the battle of General Leo and Kefka, and results in a crash. Unfortunately, there’s currently no possibility of continuing the game after the cutscene glitch.

Thankfully, Square Enix has acknowledged the problem, and claims that “fixes are forthcoming,” along with multiple minor updates.

As it stands, however, your $15.99 will only carry you through fifty or so percent of the experience. Otherwise, Final Fantasy VI is an excellent port of one of the better games in the series, and other than some hideous sprites is also quite pretty on capable devices, so here’s hoping that Square Enix won’t take their time on this one.
