Microsoft has revealed their statistics for Q4 2013 as part of its quarterly earnings release. The company revealed that had made record sales in the previous quarter earning $24.52 billion. The previous record was for the same time period in 2012, which brought in $21.46 billion.
“Our Commercial segment continues to outpace the overall market, and our Devices and Consumer segment had a great holiday quarter,” said CEO Steve Ballmer. “The investments we are making in devices and services that deliver high-value experiences to our customers, and the work we are doing with our partners, are driving strong results and positioning us well for long-term growth.”
In terms of the Xbox brand, Microsoft revealed that they had shipped 3.9 million Xbox One units and 3.5 million Xbox 360 units to retailers in that time period. These are shipped units and not sold. Two weeks ago Microsoft revealed that they had sold 3 million Xbox Ones by the end of 2013, meaning that supply is ample. It is currently unknown how many units the console has sold since the start of 2014.
Nintendo has already released their Financial Forecast, which was a complete disaster. We’re still waiting for Sony to release theirs.
