Normally when you buy the limited edition of a game, you expect it to have a negative effect on your social life. Nobody ever strategically placed a giant songbird statue on their desk to attract a mate, and at the very least, buying $100+ versions of video games leaves you with little money to buy clothing that’s not from Ross. But for once, a limited edition has been revealed that not only will look good (to you) on your shelf, but can actually improve your appearance.
Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi will get a limited edition this Spring that includes a premium box made to look like Japanese lacquer, a comb and hair pin set evocative of the series, and a traditional Japanese love charm (omamori) with an embroidered Hakuoki “Kitan” stamp on the back. Now, while this set is aimed at women, it doesn’t mean a man can’t make use of the comb, so its a win-win for everybody.
So thank you, Aksys; you’re doing god’s work here. Now can your next limited edition include a shirt, pants, underwear and deodorant? Then we could actually leave the house.
