Microsoft is out for blood. Cut-throat, raw, blood.
This morning they’ve sent out a deal to their e-mail subscribers insisting that they’ve come up with a deal to perhaps help with their current $499 price of the Xbox One. The deal is so massive that they just had to make a giant, green flyer with bright white font to put further emphasis on this grand, extravagant deal. What’s the deal you ask? Trade in your PS3 and get $100 back in store credit that will help you get an Xbox One.
Okay, I’m done with the sarcasm. There are plenty of reasons as to why this doesn’t make any lick of sense to a PlayStation 3 owner who may or may not be a PlayStation Plus Member and there are plenty of reasons why this trade-in would be a waste of a $300 system for a measly $100 in store credit, but I digress.
By the way, it helps to know that this deal may not work with any other retailer except for the Microsoft store, which begs the question of what the company plans to do with all the PlayStation 3s that get traded in. Part of me thinks that the company will be trashing them, but we can’t rule out the possibility that this is a way for Microsoft employees to finally get a PS3 without going through the embarrassment of buying one.
For now, this is definitely a cut-throat deal that Microsoft will be e-mailing out to their subscribers today. Whether or not it’s a great trade-off is still up for debate. The choice is yours, players.
