Microsoft Attempting To Track Down Xbox One Leaker, More Rumors On The Way

Yesterday was a complete disaster for Microsoft.  Reliable NeoGaf user ntkrnl unleashed a ton of info that included all of Microsoft’s hardware and software plans for the next two years.  This included Halo 2: Anniversary Edition, Forza Horizon 2, Crackdown 3 and many more games.  To top it all off, apparently there’s a 1TB White Xbox One that contains no Blu-Ray disk drive coming out later this year.

Microsoft clearly does not want to respond.  Instead, they’re going for blood.  A Kotaku source has stated that ntkrnl is connected to Microsoft and that the company is trying to track him down and take legal action.  We shouldn’t take this as a sign that everything ntkrnl is true, but Microsoft pursuing him has to mean something.

Elsewhere, more rumors are continuing to pile up.  A well-respected source has confirmed to VG247 that a brand new Xbox One model will release later this year.  Apparently Microsoft is already talking with publishing partners about their plans, however the source would not confirm if this model is the same 1TB, diskless model mentioned by ntkrnl.

At the time of the launch of the new model Microsoft is expected to drop the price of the current Xbox One model to $399.99.  This will help in the fight against the PS4, which has a significant lead over the Xbox One at this current time.

We’ll have to wait and see what Microsoft’s plans are as they are currently not commenting on any of this.
