Zynga Acquires NaturalMotion for $527 Million

The mobile gaming giant Zynga has purchased the Oxford-based studio behind Backbreaker, Clumsy Ninja, and CSR Racing. The deal is composed of $391 million in cash and around $39.8 million in shares of Zynga’s stock. The agreement signals a moderate change in Zynga’s approach to marketing and development as it adapts to the shifting and competitive mobile games market.

This moves comes just hours after news of Zynga laying off 314 employees, which accounts for about 15% of its total staff.
