New Wireless Stereo Headset Makes Its Way to PlayStation 4

Shooting friends isn’t half as fun if you can’t hear them berate your mother,¬†question your sexual preference, and scream in anger when you land a perfect shot. It’s all the better when what you hear sounds clear and authentic, without the background noise of a screaming wife of neighborhood dogs.

It’s great, then, that Sony announced the new Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 for the PlayStation 4. The new headgear boasts 7.1 virtual surround sound, a noise-cancelling internal microphone and a sleek, futuristic design. According to the Official PlayStation Blog, the headset is compatible with the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC and Mac, PlayStation Vita and various mobile devices. The battery life is estimated to last 8 hours and can be charged via USB.

Additionally, the headset can be folded for easy travel and storage, and will launch with a Companion App featuring custom sound modes. The Wireless Stereo Headset is set to release February 10 for $99.
